Kiltybane Lake

South Armagh and Mid Monaghan boasts of some of the best waters in the island of Ireland for game and coarse angling. There is something to suit all levels of angler from novice to the experienced.


The Cross Square Hotel offers fisher men the opportunity to ‘catch and dine’ on their bounty as part of their evening dinner.

Lough Ross  – refurbished in 2008 and located 1 mile form the Cross Square Hotel Lough Ross stocks Trout Perch, and Ell pike roach. River Fane runs through Lough Ross

Kiltybane Lake – Situated 1.5 miles from Cross Square Hotel. Stocked with Brown and Rainbow Trout, bag limit of three fish.  Fish up to 14lb weight.

Camlough Lake – Large reservoir is well stocked with Pike, Bream, Roach and Perch

Cornahove Lake – pike roach and perch

Cappy Lake –.brown and Rainbow trout. Bag limit of three fish. 
Drumbee Lake – pike roach

Fane River – pike and trout and salmon catch and keep.

Glassdrummond  Lake – trout and perch

Cashel lake– Trout

Creggan River – trout and late run of salmon.

There are many other smaller lakes Mobane, Cullyhanna, Anamar, Teer Island Lakes, Lough Patrick and Lough Peter in a 5 mile radius that on which, fishing is granted by permission.
